Day 1. Welcome to Crete!
Touch down in ancient Crete! Hop in your shared transfer to your comfortable accommodations, get settled, then head outside! Why not take today to relax after your travels and simply lounge by your hotel's pristine pools? Indulge at one of the hotel's many restaurants tonight – perhaps the Fontana Amorosa which serves an array of Mediterranean cuisine.

Aldemar Knossos Royal, with its multitude of royal blue and white bungalows greeting a private beach, is a resort like none other. It mimics the ancient architecture and traditions of Knossos, the historic Greek city on Crete's northern coast that this resort is located on. Aside from the beautiful architecture that encompasses this unique resort, there are also plenty of other amazing features that Aldemar Knossos Royal has to offer. Visitors have easy access to nearby sandy beaches as well as a beautiful garden.
Facilities at this resort include multiple pools, a kids' club, fitness centre, mini-golf courses, free Wi-Fi, a tennis court, and plenty of restaurants to eat at. There are three primary restaurants where visitors can have a taste of a wide variety of cuisine — the most popular being the Fontana Amorosa which hosts a widely popular "lobster night" and serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine and wines from all over the globe. The resort also offers a unique recreational program in which visitors can take lessons in Greek dance and cooking, as well as partake in games with their friends and family.
Day 2. Crete
Only 10km from your resort you'll find the Crete Aquarium (known as CRETAquarium Thalassokosmos) which boasts over 2,000 marine species. Walk through the large Aquarium as you marvel at huge groupers, impressive sand tiger sharks, octopuses, and more!
Alternatively, venture out today to visit Knossos, a 3,000 year old palace which is said to have featured the seat of King Minos. Take a walk through the ruins of the courtyard where the royal family would entertain guests, enter the epic Throne Room, and stroll along the Royal Way to see ancient royal apartments.

Day 3. Crete
Feel like getting adventurous today? Head to the Samaria Gorge for a 16-kilometre hike where you'll hike between huge walls of rock to reach the charming coastal village of Agia Roumeli. As you hike through the gorge, keep your eyes locked upwards to catch a glimpse of the endangered kri-kri, a feral goat who expertly manages the rocky terrain.
On the other hand, if you're a history buff (or simply enjoy learning more about history) then check out the Heraklion Archaeological Museum to learn more about the oldest civilisation in Europe. This museum features 20 rooms that lead you through chronological order and boasts the largest collection of Minoan artefacts in the world.

Day 4. Crete
Want to get a little active today? The Aldemar Knossos Royal offers
many activities for guests to enjoy, both water-related and land
activities. Play some beach volleyball, swing a few rounds at their
tennis courts, and race down their waterslide! Enjoy another delicious
meal tonight and ask the hotel staff about any events happening tonight –
from dance competitions to cooking lessons and bingo, there is no
shortage of activities at this beachfront resort.
If you're interested in beaches beyond your hotel, then the Balos Lagoon is as postcard-worthy as you can get and is accessible by ferry. The calm turquoise water is perfect for swimming while the rugged hillsides are ideal for hiking and reward you with stunning views at the end.

Day 5. Crete
Head back out of your hotel today and check out the Phaistos Palace and Archaeological Site. This is the second largest Minoan palace on Crete and was said to be home to Minos' brother, Radamanthus. You'll feel as if you're walking back in time as you stroll through the ancient ruins and marvel at original paving stones from over 3,000 years ago.
You may also wish to stroll around Chania’s Venetian Harbour! Built in the early 1300s, this bustling port is filled with shops, eateries, and the emblem of the city – its impressive lighthouse. Alternatively, maybe you'd like to visit Malia’s Minoan Palace, the third largest palace in Crete. Another of King Minos’ brothers, Sarpedon, had his throne here.

Day 6. Depart Crete!
