Day 1. Welcome to Crete!
Touch down in ancient Crete! Enjoy a shuttle transfer to your
comfortable accommodations, get settled, and then head outside to lounge by your hotel's pristine pools. Play some rounds of tennis, soar above the ocean as you para-sail, or rent a bike from the hotel and enjoy cycling around the paved trails of Crete. The Mitsis Royal Mare (formerly Aldemar Royal Mare) is the perfect hotel for visitors looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway while still being able to enjoy local activities and accommodations.
This hotel is located in the middle of Anissaras' seaside area, where beautiful ocean views, landscape gardens, and a private beach band together to create a majestic experience like none other. The resort itself is 5-stars and is a good mix of modern design and traditional Mediterranean style.
Facilities include multiple bright blue pools, several restaurants and bars, up to seven available tennis courts, and a walkway to a nearby private beach. Visitors can also take advantage of the Thalasso Spa Centre generously offered by the hotel staff as a way for visitors to sink deep into their relaxing holiday.
There are also car rentals and tours available at the front desk that will take visitors into the city for them to explore the history of Anissaras' much further.
Day 2. Crete
Not far from your resort is the Crete Aquarium (known as CRETAquarium Thalassokosmos) which features over 2,000 marine species. Stroll through the large Aquarium as you marvel at huge groupers, sand tiger sharks, octopuses, and more!
If you're interested in beaches beyond your hotel, then the Balos
Lagoon is a must-visit. This postcard-worthy island is accessible by
ferry and is renowned for its serene turquoise water ideal for swimming,
while its craggy hillsides are perfect for those who wish to hike and
be rewarded with spectacular views at the end.

Day 3. Crete
Want to take an adventure today? Head out of your hotel to visit the 3,000 year old Knossos Palace, believed to have been the seat of King Minos. Much of the palace is in ruins, but you can still stroll through the courtyard where the royal family entertained guests, see the epic Throne Room, and walk the Royal
Way to marvel at ancient royal apartments. You may also wish to visit Phaistos Palace and Archaeological Site, the second largest Minoan palace in Crete! Believed to have been the home of Minos' brother, Radamanthus, you'll truly feel as if you're walking back in time as you stroll through the ancient ruins and marvel at original paving stones from over 3,000 years ago.

Day 4. Crete
Still feeling adventurous? Head to the Samaria Gorge for a
16-kilometre hike between huge walls of rock to reach
the charming coastal village of Agia Roumeli at the end. Keep your eyes locked upwards as you hike and try to spot the endangered kri-kri, a feral goat who expertly manages the rocky terrain. Alternatively, if you're interested in history, check out the Heraklion Archaeological Museum to learn more about the oldest civilisation in Europe! This museum boasts 20 rooms that lead you through chronological order and features the largest collection of Minoan artefacts in the world.

Take a leisurely stroll around Chania’s Venetian Harbour today! This bustling port was built in the early 1300s and is filled with shops, eateries, and the
emblem of the city – its impressive lighthouse. Alternatively, perhaps instead you wish to visit Malia’s Minoan Palace, the third largest palace in
Crete. Another of King Minos’ brothers, Sarpedon, had his throne here.
