Number of Nights:
Day 1. Welcome to Iceland!
Arrive in Reykjavik and make your way to the hotel. Tonight, enjoy your Northern Lights by Boat experience.
Check-in - ODDSSON Midtown Hotel
ODDSSON Midtown Hotel is centrally located in Reykjavรญk, placing guests within easy reach of the cityโs main attractions and vibrant neighborhoods. Just a short walk from the hotel, visitors can explore landmarks such as the iconic Hallgrรญmskirkja Church, the lively Laugavegur shopping street, and the scenic Reykjavik Harbor. Public transit options nearby make it convenient to access the cityโs museums, galleries, and nightlife, while the airport is approximately a 45-minute drive away.
The hotel features 77 modern rooms designed to accommodate solo passengers, families, and groups of varying sizes. Some guest rooms include options with bunk beds, sofa beds, and basic kitchenettes, offering flexibility for guests travelling with children or planning longer stays. Each room is equipped with essential amenities such as free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms.ย
Guests can start their day with a complimentary continental breakfast served on the ground floor.ย
Departing from Reykjavikโs Old Harbour, the boat reaches a prime location in just 15โ20 minutes, away from city lights, ideal for viewing the Northern Lights. A guide shares the science behind this magical phenomenon, along with myths and stories from cultures around the world. The tour lasts approximately 2โ3 hours, depending on when the auroras appear.
Guests are provided with warm overalls (including childrenโs sizes) to stay comfortable on deck while observing the dancing lights and listening to the guideโs insights.
Onboard, an original Northern Lights video offers fascinating facts and folklore. Drinks are available at the bar, allowing for a cosy indoor experience while enjoying the distant city lights.
A crew member captures photos throughout the night, so guests can focus on the experience. Photography guidance is also available for those who want to capture the perfect shot.
Day 2. Reykjavik
Get ready for an incredible day with your included Golden Circle Tour. Back in the city for the evening, why not explore the colourful streets around Laugavegur and try some traditional Icelandic lamb soup to warm up?
The Golden Circle bus tour takes you on a day trip to see the world-famous Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss, the queen of Icelandic waterfalls, as well as Thingvellir National Park. The Geysir geothermal area boasts spouting springs, including Strokkur, the most active geyser in Iceland.
At Gullfoss you are given the opportunity to stand next to the amazing waterfall, watching enormous quantities of water tumble violently into a deep, meandering gorge. You will also spend your time encountering a cross-section of Iceland's natural wonders and geological phenomena at Thingvellir National Park, an area of historical and geological significance.
Day 3. Reykjavik
Today your South Coast Wonders Tour reveals a side of Iceland that feels almost impossibly dramatic. Back in Reykjavik for the evening, consider stopping by one of the harbor-side restaurants for fresh Icelandic fish and a well-earned Einstรถk beer.
This South Coast Wonders tour is ideal for nature lovers of all kinds. You'll travel along the south coast of Iceland, one of the countryโs most scenic regions, as far as Vรญk, a charming village surrounded by high beautiful bird cliffs. South Iceland is special in that it is one of the flattest regions on the island. As a result, nearly all grain farming in Iceland is done there. The high mountains to the north, shield the area from the harshest northern winds.
Among the stops on this tour are the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skรณgafoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljalandsรก river, which has its origins in Eyjafjallajรถkull glacier. What makes Seljalandsfoss so famous and interesting is that you can walk behind it. We recommend you bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along if you want to stroll behind it which we of course highly recommend. Skรณgafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point of the Fimmvรถrรฐuhรกls walk over to รรณrsmรถrk. This most picturesque of all waterfalls is something of a film star, having been used as a backdrop in films such as Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
Next is a stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. It is one of the most spectacular beaches in Iceland but can be quite dangerous due to powerful sneaker waves, and we kindly ask our guests not to go too close to the ocean and follow all guidelines. Last is a stop by Sรณlheimajรถkull glacier and walk up to a small lake that has formed in front of the retreating glacier.
Day 4. Reykjavik
This morning, head to the Whales of Iceland Museum with your included entry. The rest of the day is yours at leisure. Perhaps wander up to Hallgrรญmskirkja church for panoramic views over the city, or find a warm cafรฉ and settle in with a slice of skyr cake.
Whales of Iceland is Europeโs largest whale museum, showcasing over 25 life-size models, including the majestic blue whale and the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale. Interactive exhibits, underwater sounds, and educational displays make it a must-see for nature enthusiasts of all ages.
Admission includes access to award-winning documentaries in the Fin Whale Theatre, including Whale Wisdom, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, offering an immersive and unforgettable experience for visitors.
Day 5. Depart Iceland
Have one last breakfast at the hotel, then make your way to the airport and board your flight home.
