Day 3. Rome - Orvieto - Siena
Today's journey takes you north-westwards to Orvieto, a charming city in the Umbria region. Here, you'll visit its black basalt and yellow limestone cathedral—a prime example of Italian Gothic architecture. By early evening, you will arrive in Siena, giving you some free time to visit this Tuscan gem. Head to one of the cafés surrounding Il Campo to take in one of Italy's most unique squares, famed across the world for its Palio horse race.

Afterwards, you will continue to the heart of the Chianti region where you'll stop at a local vineyard and taste some delicious wines.

Day 6. Montecatini - Pisa - Venice Area
This morning, you will drive to Pisa for a mini-train ride to see its Square of Miracles and the amazing Leaning Tower, 180 feet high and no less than 16 feet out of the perpendicular. Later, head across the wooded Apennine Hills into the farmlands of the Po Valley for two overnights in the Venice area.
